WHY NOT JOIN THE CRESCENT SOCIETY TODAY!

On behalf of the Officers and Directors, we welcome you to join us today. Who are we, you may be asking yourself.

We’re friends and former co-workers/retirees from any of the Oklahoma City-based companies (GE-Honeywell, Magnetic Peripherals/Control Data, Imprimis and Seagate). We’re a member-financed group that gets together at least once a month. There is no age requirement for membership; just previous employment at the OKC plants.
Our year begins July 1st. We have quarterly meetings in August, November, February and May.

These are the dinner, entertainment and short business meetings usually held on the 3rd Thursday of the month. (We have to take care of business when most of the members are there.) For those who prefer not driving at night, we’ve even held some luncheons with good results. The May meeting is a barbeque/picnic at Macklanburg-Duncan Park. Our Quarterly Meeting Activity Director arranges some interesting programs and delicious food selections for these meetings at different restaurants. On the months in between, brunches are held on the 3rd Thursday at the Runway Café located at Wiley Post Airport at 9 AM. There is a terrific menu – select your breakfast favorite at reasonable prices. We like to think that all these do’s are fun. Depending upon our members’ busy schedules, our attendance varies.

The newsletters (8 per year) keep you informed about news, members, brunches, meetings and any special events so you can plan ahead. And you’ll receive a directory of all the members. This stuff is what really holds the group together. Now that we have a website www.crescentsociety.com you can receive the newsletter and directory right here at the site.

With a little bit of luck, arm-twisting and downright dragging them in, our membership could reach over 500, 550 or 600 this year. Members are not only in metropolitan Oklahoma City; they’re spread out across the country. You’d be amazed where some of the people live.

When you join, you get all this for just $5.00 per employee (and $5.00 for the spouse) plus $5.00 for the Directory if you want a hard copy, and the chance to mingle with friends from last week to years ago. If you live outside the metropolitan area you can keep up with former friends by simply downloading the directory to find their mailing address or e-mail address.

Include your mailing address, phone, and e-mail address, to add to the directory. Some addresses and e-mail addresses have been found to be wrong and this will remedy those problems.
